Roles and access

There are three kinds of people in SaidText. Which tool you use, and what you can change, depends on which one you are.

Requester	Mobile app	Send requests, attach files, follow status, reply in chat
Team Member	Dashboard	Take charge, reply, assign, add internal notes, complete and archive
Owner	Dashboard	Everything a Team Member can, plus manage team, users, settings and plan

In the dashboard these roles appear under Team as Owner and Team Member. Requesters are listed separately under Users — they are not team members and never see the dashboard.

What limits what someone sees

Departments limit which requests a team member works with. A member assigned to Quality and General sees work in those areas. Set them under Team Members.

Department Visibility limits which departments a requester can send to. Set it per user under Users.

Adding people

• A new person who will handle requests: Invite Team Member, under Team.
• A new person who will send requests: Invite Users, under Users.

Both are invited by email. Until they accept, a requester shows the status Invite Sent.

Note

Only an Owner can change the plan and the account settings. If a menu item described in these guides isn’t there, you are likely a Team Member — ask an Owner in your organisation.
