Notifications aren't arriving

Notifications come from two different places, and they fail for different reasons. Work out which one is missing first.

Most likely causes, in order:

  1. Permission was never granted. SaidText asks once, on first launch. If it was declined, no notification ever arrives. Check your phone’s settings for SaidText and allow notifications.
  2. Battery saving. Aggressive power saving suspends background delivery, particularly on Android. Exclude SaidText from battery optimisation.
  3. Do Not Disturb / focus mode. Notifications arrive but stay silent.
  4. Signed out. If the app has signed you out, nothing is delivered. Open it and check you still see Active Requests.

Test it: have the back office reply to one of your requests. The reply and the status change should both appear.

The dashboard sends email in two cases:

  • Activity left unread by everyone for 15 minutes — switched on under account settings.
  • A new request matching a keyword — AI Notifications under AI Features.

If neither arrives:

  1. Check both are actually enabled, and that keywords are saved.
  2. Check the spam folder, then ask whoever runs your mail to look for filtering or rejection of the sending domain.
  3. Remember the 15-minute rule only fires when nobody has read the activity. If a colleague opened it, no email is sent — this is working as intended.

Contact support with the request code, the approximate time, and whether it’s push or email that’s missing.
